Big shout out to Mike Kollwitz for lending me his Stick while I was in Arizona this week.
So great to not worry about airport carrion.

Mike Kollwitz is a phenomenal player and a phenomenal person. He has 19 albums, has played all over the world, heck he's in the Free Hands book. What was the type of wood that Emmett had used on his Sticks? As I recall, they were some type of exotic Koa or something?

I have not figured out the science, but you can catch a great video of him playing out at the Guitar Merchant last year here.

The first Sticks were Ironwood. Now they come in a variety of woods like padauk, mahogany, rosewood, and others.

While Mike was working out in Hawaii, he had some special woods that he sent to Emmett to make his two Sticks out of. He told me what they were, but I can't recall. I'll ask him.

LOL, Emmett will deny it because he doesn't want people sending him blocks of wood for their order...
