Plum Railboard
Finally, my plum railboard has arrived. The colour is a lot darker than I anticipated, but she is a beautiful musical instrument. Also was not anticipating the weight, which is not a problem when on the belt hook, but was a surprise.
As promised, photos!

Re: Plum Railboard
Wow, that's purdy! Especially the last one that shows the milling on the surface of the board. It IS a bit darker than I thought plum was but I like it very much! Congrats!

Re: Plum Railboard
Final set of photos.
Now I'm trying to learn the 'Smoke on the Water' riff - to match the colour, of course!

Re: Plum Railboard
Congrats on finally getting your baby home. I was shocked at how much it weighed as well. It was heavier than a graphite stick I borrow from Kev C. Good thing they cut away some of the excess aluminum. I thought aluminum was light. Your Railboard is Beautiful. Looking forward to hearing Smoke On The Water

Re: Plum Railboard
If it's sitting in the sun, does it get hot? Same thing for it getting cold? Metal isn't like wood, so I'm curious about the temperature? This might affect it's ability to stay in tune?
I play a vintage hardwood stick and it's always the right temperature It also stays in tune really well.

Re: Plum Railboard
BTW - Can you weigh it? I'd like to know how much it weighs.

Re: Plum Railboard
Congratulations!
She looks beautiful. Can you tell me if Bob's "muting" technique works better on a rail board VS a traditional stick? The flat top of the fret seems wider than a normal stick. It could be my imagination.
Thank You, Larry
