Oooooooh thanks a lot. Those clips were on the old greg's website and i used to watch them a lot back in the days. I forgot those since but watching them again makes me think about the days when i was a newbie and watched them again and again in awe.
I still have a VHS with GH and Darrell Rose on percussions, and i think there is only one clip on YT, although the VHS contains 3 tracks. I would love to watch those missing clips again but i don't have any VHS compatible device at home.
Anyone could transfer this VHS to YT? Would be awesome and a nice homage to GH.

My god, i'm completely disconsolate. :cry:

I have no words. I only have endless notes to play in memory of you, dear Greg. Thank you for leaving so much music for me, and for all of us, to study, play and enjoy. I'm glad that you are a part of my musical life. Miss you and Emmett.

Only you guys will understand my excitement at meeting Greg and Emmett (plus Don and Bob) for the first time. Finally got up the courage to say hi and told Emmett that he was probably working on my Stick at the moment and that I had never even held one in my hands, to which Emmett says, "Here, you go"!!! So the very first Stick I ever held was Emmett's. BEST. MOMENT. EVER.!!!

Very sad news - he was my inspiration when I started playing stick - I had a video lesson from him that put me on the right track - his music was transcendent.

What a great loss to one of Stick's early pioneers and he who paved a path in lessons and learning on how to approach and master the Stick. I am not often on this platform and came as a shock as I see it did to others. He lives on in true heart and soul in the notes and rhythms we assemble in our ongoing passion and pursuit of Stick perfection. You will be missed and never forgotten.

A bit more about Greg, whom I still miss a lot...

Sal Soghoian is a musician that was quite active on the C'ville scene when Greg was there, and they collaborated on a few projects together. (Thanks to David for posting the link to a few clips from Sal in an earlier reply in this thread.) During our exchanges recently, Sal remembered this:

Greg was very much a fan of Groucho Marx and it shows in his self-deprecating humor. I too will miss his spirit and generosity. When Blue Indigo was recording the Catwalk album, and we were so tired toward the end, Greg stepped in as Producer and carried us over the finish line. I will always be grateful for that!

I never knew nor met Greg, but his mark on the Stickist community and my own journey with the instrument is powerful. I watched Greg's Railboard demo videos dozens of times before ordering one, and read and re-read so many of his posts on this forum over the years. Greg's gifts for playing, analyzing, and communicating were inspiring, and I'm thankful to have benefited from them.

This, along with the previous post are probably two of the most difficult posts I have ever read here.

It's beyond words the impact Greg has had within the Stick community, as I read all the previous comments from many members who were a part of this forum many many years ago.

I must say that although me and Greg often saw things very differently, the one thing that cannot be denied is how engaging Greg was, and how generous he was with his comments and help towards everyone who posted here on this forum.

A huge loss to his family and friends, not to mention the entire Stick community and anyone who has heard his music.

But Greg will always be alive in his music, as his music will go on forever.

R.I.P. Greg.
I for one will miss you very much.
