Re: Stick eye candy - new "Hot Shots" Gallery
I was shocked at how sweet the white stained stick with the silver stickup looked . i was actually thinking it would have been stunning with pearl white linear inlays. i still think that the 2 most beautiful sticks in the hotshot gallery are per boysen's sunset dyed sg-12 with the turquois inlays and the mahogony 10 string w/ the turquois inlays. although my tarrara stick is awesome because of the bread board look of it (each laminate stands out in a really cool way because they graduate in tone from one direction to the other. Anybody know if tarrara gets darker or ambers ,as it ages?

I tend to play a lot of two handed bass lines and I wanted to be able to switch seamlessly between fretted and fretless. This beauty is a monster in tone and works exactly like I wanted it to. I used it a lot in studio with Julie Slick. She is a very experimental bass player and had a brand new Lakland 6 string tuned EADGCF, so she tended to play the higher registers which fitted my low notes very well... Summarizing I just have to say that Emmett did it again. Another perfect instrument for me... Best, Marc

Can you feel the grain on these?
Brett Hi Brett, I haven't actually touched one, but according to Emmett the grain is "sealed" but you can still feel the texture of it through the mirror finish. I find this shot pretty amazing:

Those are REALLY something special! I just ordered my NS/Stick today and was seriously considering that turquoise. It even has turquoise dots, just amazing. In the end, I just couldn't swing it and ended up with a very nice Ash/wenge instead, with a very special serial number (see sig).
