I’m thinking Eric will be OK, I sent Emmet and Eric an email, he now has multiple options of receiving strings and tools needed to be ready for the seminar. Thank you, Steve. I will be ready as I have so many strings coming to me from different directions. I suspect they will all get to me at the s...

Yes, the tension is very high on that high melody A of the SG-12 Mirrored 4ths Piano tuning, also on the Alto Stick with "Greg's Extended" or "Bob's Expanded" tunings. The high A on a guitar scale instrument is "stretching it", I do admit. First step is to slightly rou...

For reference, rotosound do a .007, and they are also long enough strings for a stick. D'addarios I only found .008s, they are also long enough for the first couple of strings but 5cm shorter than the rotosounds. Ernie balls are too short My Stick is an SG12 and guitar strings are the right length....

I need to order some guitar strings. Check Strings By Mail, which is based out of Traverse City. If you find what you want I’ll add it to my order. Since I live in TC I’m sure I’ll get it right away. I’ve ordered individual strings from them many times. Thanks, Steven. I sent you a PM over in FB. -...

I am checking with stores that sell guitars and the lightest gauge for them is an 8, or .008”. I suspect that is too thick to get as high as that tuning needs. I might need to try it anyway.

Sigh, there’s always something.

Hello, I got new strings for Interlochen and things kept getting in the way and I finally got around to changing them today. I have an SG12 and I’m using the Mirrored 4ths Piano tuning with light strings. That means string number 1 is the tiniest string gauge I’ve ever seen. I think it might be a 6....

Forum: Chapman Stick®   Topic: Middle C... Is it C3 or C4 on tuning charts?

Unfortunately it can be either depending on the manufacturer of a device. The international standard is that middle C should be C4. However, many companies, like Yamaha, use C3. You really need to know the spec of the tuner you are using.
