For my SG12s (that I use a lot for concerts) I once used to put a normal 0.009 guitar set on the side tuned in forths. For the side tuned in fifths I would have to put together a custom set, which can be done at Thomann webshop. For my Grand, with the long scale, I have been forced to order from SE ... |

A difference I noticed with the grand is that it does not have a divided truss rod. I think that upgrade was introduced in 2010 (?) Per, I think that the short scale Sticks (SG-12 and Alto) never had a divided truss rod. Quote from SE website https://www.stick.com/about/innovation/truss/ : "Th... |

6-09 Divided truss rod with 4-way push-pull operation in production instruments. Given the evidence, I take that as meaning that the divided truss rod applies for blanks machined from June 2009 date on? It seems likely that your Grand & mine were both from an earlier batch? Yep, apparently. Bad... |

I bought my first Stick, a dark bamboo grand, at the beginning of 2010 and it is probably a 2009 build. It is light chocolate brown. A year later I bought a light bamboo SG-12. The wood color is almost white (although mine was dyed red). A difference I noticed with the grand is that it does not have... |

Hi Gene, great video! I think I would feel safe checking in my instrument in a stuffed hard case following your advice :-) I actually learned to stuff up inside the case "the hard way" back in 2006. I was flying Stockholm-Boston-San Francisco. I checked in a tenor sax in a hard case as wel... |

I have managed to shrink my rig to a small and rather portable format. For my current SG-12 concerts I'm bringing the usual two active speakers and a laptop with an Apollo Twin interface. That's a little easier to carry than the AxeFx. I play the Stick with the melody side going through a TubeScream... |
