Getting very psyched!!!! It's been over two years since I've been to a stick gathering. I've put all my weight back on (look for the big guy) but I'm psyched to see old friends and make new ones.

Try these two they are finger twisters but I use them from time to time as basic shapes. The second set is much like yours

Yes he is THE man. Amazing. It's funny I listen to parallel galaxy and hear phrasing which is so innovative and fresh and he was the first. I can only liken his approach to the musical greats. Wes Montgomery, Charlie Parker, Trane mile, Evans , they all still give so much to the listener even years ...

I've played stick in several rock bands. However, some bands are more open than others.

It's harder to play in a jazz situation than a rock one. I don't think there has ever been a major jazz player who has hired a stick player instead of a bassist or keyboard player for an entire album.
