There are no quick remedies. Only time and practice will give you that comfort zone combo of technique and creativity. There will be many Eureka moments during your Stick explorations. Playing The Stick is easy and at the same time, not. Allow hard work and time to get you to your goal. Musical grat... |

My left hand is totally amazed by this new responsibility, and is having some problems coping.<<< Although you've played guitar for many decades, reme... |

>>>you should be able to reach all of the intervals in question, even in 5ths, the only real exception being major and minor 2nds.<<< Here's why I say the Stick's potential is still in its infancy. All intervals , all chords, scales, modes etc. are easily found with some applied ingenuity. I play mi... |

>>As I may have not been too far off in my understand of what may be possible on a Stick.<<< Anything is possible on The Stick. Much has already been explored and presented, but it's still very young with few players relatively speaking. I'm convinced that the musical possibilities on The Stick can/... |

Pat asked a lot of questions about The Stick. He said it reminded him of the organ with left hand bass and right hand treble chords and melodies. He asked about chord voicing possibilities and electronic sound variables. I thought he would enjoy The Stick since he's explored the tapping technique on... |

I did this interview 8-10 years ago for Twentieth Century Guitar mag. A fave. After the interview, I ended up giving Pat a brief Stick lesson, then he grabbed a geeetar and we jammed for around 20 minutes. A special day for me. http://www.steveadelson.com/interview_metheny.php SA |
