Was it Medrano? That's him. Outside of teaching math, we would always get a few true inspirational stories about life from him. Always a short story with deep meaning you could pick apart from different angles. I had him twice. Definitely the most memorable of any teacher I had K-12 and possibly un... |

30 years ago today I was a freshman at Eastern Michigan University. I lived in the corner of the 3rd floor of Pittman Hall with bunch of musicians. I was a horn player but had started learning guitar that year and was playing guitar way more than anything else. There was a room occupied by some guys... |

I have one of the first pressings of these and I have to say I really like this book. There's a ton of material in it and the skill level required is all over the map. Plenty of stuff for the novice an plenty for everyone else as well. |

The third piece. Quick story on this. My mom used to play it when I was a little kid. After I started playing saxophone in school, I told her that it seemed to me if I could read horn music and I knew where the notes on a piano keyboard were, I should be able to play piano music. She was skeptical s... |

Thanks Wojtek. I did a quick look up on the ORTF technique and found some good descriptions. The mics I have are cardioid condensors but they are side address. Still I should be able to set them up appropriately and give it a try. It's funny. The piano is beautifully suited for recording (Yamaha C3)... |

Hi all, Here would be the 2nd of the pieces I shot on video last week. This one I've dabbled with on and off since around 97 or 98. The title translates to "Pavane for a dead princess" and was described by Ravel as "an evocation of a pavane that a little princess might, in former time... |

Don't know that one but I just went and listened to some samples of it. My knowledge of Liszt isn't that broad but I'm getting to know more of it. Unfortunately most of his piano stuff is considered pretty advanced. It doesn't always sound that way on the surface but it's loaded with a lot of wierd ... |

Hi all. Aside from playing Stick, I like working up classical pieces on piano. A while back I was complaining to my sister that since I never perform these pieces in public, I tend to move onto new ones before I ever "finish" the ones at hand. So I decided I would work on three pieces with... |
