I have a bamboo 12-string on order. I mainly want it because it's so light. I played Greg Howard's 12-string bamboo and it felt great and sounded so good I just have to have one! However, based on reports from people who have played many Sticks, the material doesn't make as much tonal difference as ... |

I'm back home and I get to play for a bit tonight before I pass out from sheer exhaustion. No one needs a vacation more than someone who's just had one. Here's hoping my fingers remember what to do on the frets. Wish me luck.

A major highlight for me about 8 years ago, was giving him a Stick lesson and jamming (Stick/gtr. duet) with him on two tunes. I have to ask, what did Pat think of the Stick? What could he do with it after a lesson? I'm a huge fan too and man would I have loved being a fly on your wall that day! -E... |

Awesome. Found this recently too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN7YHbQjwjo Live tv improv...nuff said. I really love that piece by PM. It's also interesting that he's playing his baritone guitar. I have only recently heard of those and they are fascinating to me. Then I noticed that you can make ... |

Today I swam in the Atlantic ocean. For some of you that's not really a big deal. But, I live in the mid-west, I've lived there all my life. This was the very first time I have ever swum in an ocean. And I don't have a Stick to play! After I get me 12-string I might start saving for an alto for trav... |

We just arrived in our hotel in Florida, USA. I'm wearing a T-shirt outside! This is sweet.

A spring break that is. Up here in Wisconsin it has been the worst winter on record and we are all sick and tired of it. So, my family and I are going where it's warm to swim with dolphins and play with Mickey. I just played my Stick for the last few minutes for a couple of weeks. I hope to come bac... |

Welcome to the forum and to the Stick again. I prefer 5ths in the bass so I can't help there. The fact that so many tunings work on the Stick is part of its fun. I think your minds probably made up but there is a lot of power and magic in the 5ths tuning and I encourage you to give it a full trial b... |
