As far as I know (or can hear) none of the players you mentioned use the PASV-4... ACTV-2 for Bob, Stickup for Greg and Jim... For me, my PASV-4 equipped Grand is my "band-Stick": I normally leave it with the front pickup only and the bassiest tone setting. More often than not I will not ... |

Anyway I've been delighted with it - I find it somehow more intuitive than normal MR (which I tried for a year or so - used standard tuning before that). All the reasons that you mentioned were why I went for this arrangement. I love the symmetry of it - particularly when chording with both hands a... |

I feel the same way about mirrored 4ths. I feel slightly guilty for not giving other stick tunings any chance, but when I first got the stick, I said 'I have to play this in 4ths' and Rob helped a lot in my quest for the 4ths tuning. Since then, I never looked back too. I think Rob is correct in du... |

I just feel the need to add to this subject one more thing... In my early days of owning a Stick (1985), before I had a tuner, I tuned the whole instrument too high one day and popped that first string. I wasn't using it much anyway, and wanted to go lower on the melody strings all the time so I mov... |

Hi Jim and Eric, For a few years I had two Sticks in different tunings, a Grand in MR and a 10-string in Baritone Melody. Having different pitch/inlay relationships on your instruments becomes very confusing, especially if you're playing the same tunes on either instrument. Reading would be all but ... |

Hey guys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYH6cNFYO40&feature=channel_page The other night. Hi Steve, I enjoyed this most when you "stretched out" and also when you had the most confidence in your left hand. Your right hand knows what to do, and your left hand seems to be reacting to i... |
