lol OK, I'm done practicing for the day; I thought I'd share one more "readthrough" that I recorded. Yep, rhythmic issues here and there, and a bit of a crash and burn in a spot or two, but meh... it's a starting point. This one was done in one shot; the fast arpeggios are basically a doub...

Practicing like an m-effer today; an excerpt of a tune that is a lot of fun! DARTH VADER MUSIC!! Again, I thought I'd hit record as I played it; this take was the best of the batch. I spent upwards of 25 minutes on this, trainwrecked it a lot ( I'm thinking it's because of the 'record' button ) Yeah...

Nice. You should start adding the Stick into the mix! No better way to progress than through the constant stress test of performance. Agreed, and that is the plan. I have a group that I play Stick with for fun, I basically function as a bassist who does a wee bit of lead/rhythm type work in that co...

It's only Grande Prairie Alberta Canada, so it doesn't really count but I play out a lot, guitar, bass and drums, not Stick ('cause I'm terrible). ...

Hey. I've been really enjoying Rick Beato's vids. I'm sure you'll fin this entertaining in the least. Love your relentless nature Jayeskerr. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXoYVO0kPMs I'm a beginner at Stick, not new to music. Thanks for the lesson I guess, but I think I am on the right track, fel...

Layla on Friday, Giant Steps on Saturday, and now Satin Doll on Sunday? It's almost a "song a day" kind of thing... Again, I thought I'd record the results of this morning's practice session - This time a sort of mangling of "Satin Doll". It's really apparent how 'root note' orie...

I applaud you for making a wonderful attempt at this Coltrane piece, regardless of what anyone else thinks. Bravo!

I really like a "tell us how you really feel" style of posting on message boards, it's best served with absolutely no positive feedback whatsoever, and a condescending tone, delivered from someone who probably can't play even my dogshit version of the piece! I can't wait to do my own vers...
