My previous list has seen some revisions. These changes include the exclusion of the Beat Root, among other things. Even daydreaming, I should focus on being able to handle both sides of the Stick well. Revised "Meso" Gig Rig Voice Rack ⋅ SKB 2U Roto Rack ; 10.75 Pounds ⋅&n... |

From what I can tell, the primary difference between a bass cab and PA speaker is that the bass cab uses woofers primarily with tweeters for the cross over, but a PA speaker will also include a mid range horn to more accurately reproduce a full range. Is this right? I'm assuming there might be more... |

Over the past year or so, you have stated several preferences and issues you're trying to balance: you like the bottom end, cost is a factor, you want 12 string range, you've recently realized that fret spacing might be an issue, and possibly more. It's a real challenge to compromise among all thos... |

I used a a non-grounded adapter plug on the amp Make sure you never defeat an amp's ground in the future. It is dangerous and can quite easily contribute to an early death. Multiply that warning by roughly one billion when the amp in question is a tube amp. If you need some reference material, I ca... |

I always knew the estimate of my fingertips' positions would introduce inaccuracy to the proceedings, but the end result is believable. The following image shows the maximum stretch my left hand will make in free air while relaxed, though having a place to anchor my thumb would increase the range a ... |

Thanks for posting that video, Claire. It has long been in the group of lessons at the top of my Chapman Stick YouTube playlist, and I really should have thought to view it with an eye toward this subject. I will watch it again after I finish typing this. Greg's approach of using hand and arm moveme... |

Claire, graphing the distance is a brilliant idea. I will do that very soon, especially if I can find a way to model the thickness of the fingerboard. Rob, I am referring to spanning the first to third frets with the first finger and pinky as one would a chord on a guitar. I do not expect to do that... |

Analysis paralysis... The price of a Grand Stick with the PASV-4 Block is 33.5% of my gross annual income, so please forgive my tendency to measure repeatedly before indulging in the cut. :ugeek: Actually, the proper term is being 26% below the poverty line and subject to punishments for having add... |

This thread really makes me want to spill the beans with regard to some amp circuits I have in mind. The best way I can describe my Stick Dream Amp is a Marshall Super PA modded beyond recognition. Among the mods would be my tone stack (which is still theoretical), the power amp topology I have deve... |

The only improvement I can think to suggest at the moment is adapting the design to use cage nuts. I imagine this would be straightforward given that you are using 10-32 screws. |
