new Railboard player. Welome, Geert! I really enjoyed hearing about your first impressions of my own favorite instrument. I have a 36" bamboo Grand but use my shorter scale SG-12's for regular playing, which means every day five months a year and sparse studio recordings during the winter seas...

This is a nice hybrid instrument. Tapping "guitar-style" and "reversed" plucking on the harp side. Myself I'm the happy owner of a fretless version, which is more like two instruments compared to this, more unified, fretted version (in fact, today I regret I didn't go for the fre...

You need to post a video of you playing some of the instruments. I haven't made many videos but below are two old ones. Last weekend I played Stick + Flute in Milano and will be sent a video DVD, so hopefully I can take out some from that gig and post.

In fact when you play loud, this cello is really close to an acoustic one...when you drive it through a good sound system...of course. Depending with who I play with, sometimes I use different effects...distortion, wha-wha, chorus...etc... Ah, thank you - very exciting information! Can't wait to br...

Beautiful Do you play any thing else? Hi Rob, the instruments I use regularly are - Guitar (steel stringed acoustic, Stratocater, Telecaster), - Fretless guitars (one of them is a Harp Guitar; 6 add harp strings) - Lapsteel (Dusenberg with two levers, for access to "the country idiom"), -...

I too like subtle, nice and smooth blues crunch; a vocal-like tone without too much lower mid. Much li...

SG12 and electric cello have become my favorite (studio) combo for creating pieces by quick improvisation. Typically I start laying down something with the Stick and then add a second take with the cello. All effects are played simultaneously by MIDI pedals and recorded with the instruments. https:/...
