This is the perfect kind of gig to start getting your feet wet with honestly. You're not really background music but at the same time, you're not the focus either. So you have room to see what works for you and what doesn't. I've always really enjoyed these kinds of gigs.

Actually now that I think about it ... I can't remember if the steel wool is #000 or #0000 grade. Let me double check when I get home in a couple of hours and I'll post back. Wouldn't want anyone to scratch up an instrument because of me :o

I just use straight up lemon oil. Way cheaper. For the same price you can get a good sized bottle that will likely last you many years. I'm still on a bottle I bought 15 years ago and it's nowhere near running out. I guarantee the only thing you're paying extra for with the PRS oil is that is says &...

That's Akin Unver from Turkey. Another excellent musician. He is a studied classical guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. We had the pleasure of hanging with Akin a bit while he was doing graduate work at the University of Michigan. He composed the tune below for piano and cello. If memory serves, h...

Japhlet is a fine musician and that is simply one of the best things I've seen/heard in a while. A gorgeous piece executed flawlessly.

Hi all, I posted this a couple of years back but since yesterday marked the 40th anniversary of Voyager 1, I figured I'd put it up again. This was a tune I originally wrote in 1984 in honor of the Voyager spacecraft and then re-recorded in 2012. The instrumentation is acoustic guitar, electric guita...

You left out "used to use it all the time but grew tired of it" option :D Back to serious though. My Stick has a GK-2 on it. I briefly used one of Roland's GR units (don't recall which) but just never warmed to it. So I switched over to a GI-20 GK to MIDI converter and used outboard gear f...

Really sorry to hear this!

It's no secret that while I liked the reboot of the tune "Still Water" with the Greg Howard band, the original recording of that tune was always my favorite and the part that always put it over the top for me was the vocal.

I'll be spinning that one today.
