It seems like some belt-hook positions work better than others for getting to the truss. However you are supporting the instrument, the one thing you want to avoid is having to "support " the instrument with the thumb. It should be necessary to do this. I fouls the Lap Dawg was pretty nice...

Good one, Dan. Had to be coffee that night (wouldn't do that now). Thanks for being there so often in those early days with camera in hand and graphic art skills. And thanks for rediscovering those negs at the most opportune time. Greg got the ball rolling on this project and saw it through from st...

I found out on Friday that my long-time friend and occasional musical partner Dawn Thompson had passed away on Thursday night. Dawn was a true original, in her art and in her life. She and her husband, my dear friend John D'earth were two of the earliest enthusiasts of my forays into the Stick, and ...

Sounding good, Mitch! I used to sing that one (in the days before I decided to stop torturing my audiences;)), your voice is way better than mine. Others in that vein I really liked to do were "Cadence and Cascade", Gabriel's "Here comes the Flood" and Eno's "By this River&q...

He was good friends with John D'earth, and I had a couple of chances to hang out with him here over the years. A huge influence on my music, especially the New Directions quartet with Lester Bowie, Eddie ...

I had the pleasure of book-ending the event as an accompanist for a fine singer/guitarist in the beginning, and as the main instrument for the closer, John Lennon's Imagine followed by Come Together witha...
