Stickist.com has been super dead lately, and since I've been super busy working on Stick stuff, and sharing works-in-progress with Jayesskerr and Kris on the side, I figured I'd post something. Here's a sketch of a work in progress on 10-string Chapman Stick using pedal tones in the left hand (minor...

Great stuff, Flint. Caught one of your live shows on Facebook the other day. I love to see you gigging; so much energy and enthusiasm and singing and Sticking. This one had a tasty bass riff with a great little melody on top. And Master of Hulu. Hooping. Awesome as always!

I must admit they do have a certain appeal especially if you're standing up and working a lot of pedals on a pedal board. But apart from sitting safely in the corner of my practice room, a Stick on one of those type stands always seems a bit precarious up there waving in the wind with a long way to...

Sweet, Marty! Good for you! I bought a Tagg interface (serial #002) from Gene last year and a huge cymbal stand from Sweetwater to put it on, and it was a Stickstand for the Railboard for a while. But I discovered that it would best suit me in a live context, especially when I want to jump around fr...

It's on! Changed my Cambria order from parallel strings to mirrored strings, based on the fine advice from you fine, fine people (Greg and Rob especially!) Just ordered two sets of bass-side strings tuned in 4ths starting with D. That's either an extra set for the Rosewood, or a set for the Railboar...

The cat-trap is still going strong. It's literally the best cat toy ever--that requires no effort on my part, anyway. Good old string (yarn) still works great. Geo got tired of the laser pointer a while ago. A Stick string apparently is better than a yarn string, which he eats and gets caught in his...

I've been playing around with mirrored and parallel fourths tunings and I had a few strings that I was changing out lying around. My Sound Engineer, Geo the Cat, found one string on the carpeted floor of the studio and wouldn't stop chasing it around, noisily and gustily. If I shut him out of the ba...

Wow! That was awesome! I'm a secret Monkees fan (well, not so secret, now!) and that song looked fun and not terribly intimidating to get the two voices working together. Great tune and very well done--you can rock some Monkees anytime! 8-)

The 12-string mirrored 4ths set has a low E not a low D, so you would need to order a custom set. Did you just want to get the bass set right now? Oh, that's right--Rob mentioned his tuning started at E. Yes, I'd like just the bass side but starting at the D. I like the range and the separation bet...

Mirrored Fourths (on a 10-String) [...] My new tuning is this: Melody (unchanged from MR) 1. C 2. G down a 4th 3. D down a 4th 4. A down a 4th 5. E down a 4th New Bass 4ths Tuning 6. D 7. G 8. C 9. F 10. Bflat [...] Here's a Greggy question: If I was going to try to do the mirrored 4ths on a 10-str...
