Well folks, it is time for another of my "real life progress gets in the way of cool Stick stuff" posts. In 2012, the real life progress was moving out of my parents' house. In 2013, the real life progress was building and testing my prototype. In 2014, I have to pass on attending the Free...

But it's a BR115-8, and the specs don't list a midrange driver (nor do I see one in my cab). Oh yes, you are right. I forgot that I linked you to that model because it was... ⋅ Not as expensive ⋅ Not as quiet at low frequencies ⋅ Not as heavy ...as the BRX15.3 which I ...

I find that my bass cabinet (a Carvin single 15' with a tweeter, no midrange speaker) is perfect - and it was cheap yet well-made. It's smooth, can handle a lot of juice, and responds very well to EQ changes on my amp. No problem getting midrange tone out of it whatsoever. If you bought the BRX15.3...

There is no legal issue with transcoding the videos, in the United States, provided: ⋅ You bought the DVD legally. ⋅ The DVD is not encrypted in any way, including standard CSS. It is a shame that people do not know their rights. Certain extremely well-funded entities have been h...

I would go for a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 or a PreSonus Audiobox 44VSL if I were you. If that $50 is critical, get the Focusrite and use SPDIF to add mic preamps if the need arises in the future. Otherwise, go with the PreSonus so that you have the option of more microphones out of the gate (and an up...

I just realized that everything going to plan would mean that I first receive, see, and play my Stick at the Academy. That would be very cool, and it would mean that I would not have to concern myself with documenting the occasion, but it is a strangely grandiose thought.

Walking basslines in under 4:00 minutes! This was really good. I love those jazz chords that he's got going on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AHW0O9qROw This is definitely a great segment. You my want to check out my Stick playlist on YouTube . At the time of this writing: ⋅ Entries 10–...

BTW, if I go to the NAMM show this year I'll try to bring one by the Stick booth so whoever wants to can check it out. That is a very good idea. I come from a tradition of overbuilding things (my father's cabinetry was often called "boat building" by fellow woodworkers), and that is somew...
