I'd be interested in other criticism Hi Rob, Sounds as a great recording to me. Maybe I could agree to some degree with akinu that you play the piece a bit fast. But that may only be an issue with this version, if you mix the recording differently it might be just awesome in that speed. After all, ... |

how did Bob do harmonics with one hand while playing bass with the other? It looks and sounds as he is using a technique I first saw used by guitar player Nils Lofgren: you hit a string while lightly touching it at a "node" with some other finger. At 1:08 it seems as he is actually creati... |

Thanks a lot! That was exactly the kind of educational answer I needed. I think I have to change my order for light guage strings as a start. My only reason for using thicker strings with low output single coil Stratocasters is the crippled twang factor with lighter strings, but the Stick doesn't se... |

Bending is easier with light gauge strings, and I think easier to control, too. That's interesting to hear. What's the sound of light guage strings? Any drawbacks compared to medium or hard? Timbre, sustain... If comparing to guitar one big drawback in using light guage strings is the difficulty to... |

I'm still in the seven to nine month limbo awaiting my first Stick, so I watch a lot of Stick videos on YouTube, local Stick concerts and talk to Stick players I know locally. One thing puzzles me: Why are so few Stick players bending strings to play glissando? I imagine it would be easy to hit at l... |

I think it is an awesome tool! And it will probably bring on some interesting discussions regarding copyright. I don't need it myself though. Wasn't it Paul Bley who said "Practice makes perfect - imperfect is better". For some reason that quote comes to mind... |

I too read that post at Tappistry thought a lot about it. So thank you, Emmet, for putting back the true colors to the picture! :-)) After reading that post I put in my order for a Stick Grand. Not as reaction to that post though. More like a funny coincidence. And later that night I went to see Sti... |

EDIT: I'm not looking anymore. 12 str Grand incoming  I'm based in Stockholm and would love to find a second hand instrument to save me from the waiting list of ordering a new Stick. Classic tuning is the plan, PASV-4 preferred but I can get around with other pickups if I have to. Cheers Per |

Bassmaster General wrote: I purchased a Stick today on eBay. #2048 10-string Rosewood with PASV-4. I've been waiting for this moment for a few years. Congratulations! I remember seeing that one but didn't bid since I'm looking for a 12-string. It looks great on the photo. |

Hope that helps It sure did! Very informative post. Thanks a lot! I've been reading up elsewhere on the net too, tapped my practice guitar and come to the conclusion that I have to get a Stick. So I've started monitoring markets for second hand instruments here in Europe. BTW, what's the waiting ti... |
